Dream Jobs, Galentines and Colourful Running Shoes #LittleLoves 7/52

I swear, the weeks are flying by lately. Doing temp work across lots of different offices means I usually only work 3-4 days a week out the house and work at home the rest, but lately I've been at a GPs office five days a week and suddenly I don't have free time anymore. My house is really messy... And yeah, I know all you adults with real jobs that have been working full time forever are rolling your eyes at me, I am too, but it's a painful shock for me, okay? That being said, I found out this week that I got an interview for pretty much my dream job, so be thinking/praying/crossing your fingers for me! So just in case my future employers are reading this, I am obviously very much looking forward to working full time with you (please like me...).

Once again, there is not much to report in this area, but this article has got a lot of love over on the Girl Gang twitter account and it is rather brilliant.

I finally saw La La Land! Jay was working last Saturday, so I took myself for a solo cinema trip to go see it. I was impressed, but not too sure it deserves *quite* the amount of hype it's gotten. It was a little slow to start with, but it picked up and as everyone who knows anything, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are perfect together. I've noticed that the people that seem to love it seem to be my more creative friends (who probably understand and relate to the frustrating feeling of being constantly rejected in the arts world), whereas more of my not so creative friends don't quite get why everyone's obsessed. I stand somewhere in the middle, I appreciate the homage to old school style musicals, but I actually think the music could have been stronger. And I daresay if I had more followers, that viewpoint would earn me a lot of hate...

Okay, so you know how I'm terrible at listening to new music and just end up with the same playlists on repeat for months until I get bored? Yeah, good, because I'm cheating on this, kind of. Because I have recently heard the lovely Miss Sarah Millican's voice as part of the Couch to 5K app. Yes, I'm jogging. And I'm half hating, half convincing myself that I'm enjoying it. I'll let you know how it goes, eight weeks to go.

Once again, nothing to see here. Apologies.

I did do a teeny, tiny bit of shopping this week, although it wasn't for the fun stuff, if you ask me. I ventured into the scary world of Sports Direct and bought myself some running shoes. They're hideous, because trainers are, but they're fun colours at least. Plus I bought a new gym bag. It is Lonsdale (it was cheap) and the ex goth kid inside of me is angry at myself for buying such a *chavvy* - I hate that word - brand, but once again, the colours are fun.

So it was Valentine's Day this week, which is a little bit boring frankly. Jay was working, so we didn't do anything exciting. Not that we ever do, he did get a sarcastic card in the morning, but that was about the limit of the celebrations. Galentines Day is where it's at and boy does Girl Gang know how to celebrate (if you're confused as to what Girl Gang is, go find it on twitter @GirlGangMcr because it's the best thing I've done since moving to Manchester). I've been so tired this week and had so much to do the next day so couldn't stay for the actual party (boo), but setting up the hundreds of balloons and somewhat excessive amount of foil curtains (though is there such a thing?) was pretty great in itself.

    1. I know what you mean about working 5 days a week. It is a shock to the system if you are not used to it. On the Flip side, I was laid off in 2008 and found that I had so much to do at home. I wondered how I ever managed to work full time and take care of a house. LOL! I hope you got the job.

      1. Yeah, it's a strange one isn't it? My housework has massively fallen behind lately, as has this blog and all my other projects! Haven't had the interview yet, but I hope so too! x

    2. Good for you for some new running shoes. I need to do the same. Hope you got the job lovely fingers crossed for you. Happy weekend. #littleloves

      1. Thanks! The interview's not till next week so will know sooner or later! x

    3. I got some new running shoes recently too. I realised that my old pair were as old as my eldest child.. oops.
Hope you got the job!! xx

      1. That's rather impressive, though I dare say I own a lot of clothes that are about as old as her too! And that's embarrassing because they're from my high school days which were full of rather unique phases... x
