Surprising Your Friends Through the Post

If there's one thing everyone loves, it's getting post. And I mean, post that isn't bills or bank statements, because being an adult is boring. If you're looking for something to surprise a friend with, if you know someone that needs cheering up a little or you just want to do something nice for someone, have I got the post for you. Sorry, I'll try not to sound like I'm on a game show. Or maybe I'll carry on, because it's actually quite fun. So I've gathered together a list of services that will send things straight through your friends postbox for you.

Blurt is a fantastic company that aims to help people suffering from depression. One of the brilliant ways they do this is through their 'Buddy Box' subscription service. These boxes include items aimed to help a person with their self care, herbal teas, relaxing candles, journals etc. They offer both a five item and three item box to suit your budget and the great thing about this is that you can order a one off box. I recently sent one to a friend, though it's not turned up yet so I don't know how she'll react! I've not received one myself, but I've had a good look through past boxes and they seem to be of excellent quality. Described as a 'hug in a box' I think they're a great way to show a friend that's struggling a little, that you care.

Everybody loves flowers and Bloom and Wild offer an excellent 'flowers through the post' service. I've used them previously for Mothers' day when I was living a long way from my mum. They have a really beautiful selection of bouquets and it all comes with free delivery. If you're on a budget, they're not the cheapest, this particular bouquet comes in at £19.99. There are other services that offer similar deals. I found a website, Bunches, that had bouquets from £12.99 and include free delivery and chocolates. But I can't comment on the quality of the service having never used them before.

Gin Lovers unite! There are services that will deliver gin to our doors. Hoorah. The Gin Crowd offers month to month subscription services but also has various other individual gifts. I haven't used this service personally, so I don't know what the quality is like. The box includes three 50ml craft gins each month, with extra tasting notes. It seems like a wonderful, if slightly decadent, treat for either you or a friend.

Postboxed is a service that delivers gifts that fit through a standard letterbox, meaning it's hassle-free and makes for an excellent surprise. I like this particular gift box including a make up bag, some chocolate and a journal. A perfect little pick me up and a good way to tell a friend what you think about them. Presuming you think your friends are lovely, which if you don't think that you should probably get new friends. They have lots of other options as well, but this is just a favourite of mine.

    Glossy Box Subscription
There are now a thousand beauty subscription boxes out there, but Glossy Box is the original. It's the one all the cool bloggers were reviewing when they first became a thing. From £10 a month, Glossy Box is good value for money as it includes five individual programmes. They're a lovely treat and make a great gift. You can gift them in subscriptions of 3, 6 or 12 months.

And for the people you hate... send them an anonymous glitter bomb! Because it'll be a pain to clear up. Other options include a glitter cannon or a potato in a box. Just because.

    1. I love the idea of getting gin through the letterbox! I'd be tempted to try the flowers too, if they were a little bit cheaper. Lovely post! (No pun intended aha) xx

      1. Sorry! That was meant to be a reply but I posted as a seperate comment! x

    2. I found another flower website called Bunches that does the same thing, but a bit cheaper. I guess when you compare it to the £2 tulips I tend to pick up at Aldi it is quite a difference! X
